Providing Assistance to Owners of Heritage Listed Homes

Owning a property with heritage features and character is a dream for many people, but the dream can also come with some difficulties and constraints which, if not dealt with properly, can become nightmares. Owning a home that is covered by a Heritage Overlay, is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register or by the National Trust is not as daunting as many would lead you to believe. However, it is critically important that the right people are engaged to work on these projects to ensure their success. Even submitting plans to approval authorities with certain names on them gives these heritage authorities the confidence that the client has been well advised and that the heritage values of the building will be protected throughout the project and into the future.

We have experience working on a range of properties of all ages, including the Point Nepean Quarantine Station, which is listed on the National Heritage List, the highest level of heritage protection that can be afforded a property in Australia short of being registered on the World Heritage List. We have worked with a variety of people experienced in the restoration and renovation of significant heritage buildings throughout Victoria.

We were involved with theaward winning restoration works to the Commanding Officer’s Residence at Point Nepean which was widely acclaimed as a great success.
