Refurbishment of Toorak Apartment Building Foyer

John managed a significant foyer and lift refurbishment for us within a high rise apartment complex over a period of several months. The outcome of the project was most successful and exceeded our expectations. John’s professionalism, knowledge and personal attention to detail was outstanding. Most importantly his honesty and good manner was an integral part in dealing with some complex issues.

Renovation of Chadstone Villa Unit

We used John to project manage the renovation of our unit in Chadstone. The process was painless for us as John managed all trades people to ensure that they completed their works on time, and on budget. We would have no hesitation in using John again or recommending him.

Renovation Work, Caulfield South

We engaged the services of John Downs to help us manage an extensive renovation to a period home. John was able to provide assistance in sourcing builders and tradesmen, find innovative ways of keeping our costs down without altering the integrity of the build and provide balanced opinions. When circumstances changed and we chose not to proceed with the major extensions, John's contacts and knowledge was invaluable in undertaking a smaller renovation in a very short time frame and within budget. He was always prompt to act, punctual and maintained a sense of humour throughout. We would have no hesitation in recommending John's services to future clients.

Brady Road Kinder Outdoor Area

When I took on the role as Kinder President, I was handed a Masterplan for the redevelopment of the kinder's outdoor space. The previous Committee had done a lot of work and had a set of plans that were ready to be brought to fruition. Having little experience in this area, I was a little overwhelmed by the process involved. Planning permits, building permits, structural drawings ... there were so many things that needed attention. John's involvement in the project was invaluable. He knew what was required and knew how to get it done. We appreciated the way he streamlined the whole process for us. The children of Brady Road Kinder will appreciate their fabulous new playspace for many years to come. Thanks again John for the role you played.

Full Cosmetic Renovation of a CBD Apartment

We would like to extend a huge thank you to John and his entire team at Residential Project Management for the amazing renovation and complete transformation of our apartment in Melbourne. RPM turned a completely dark and concrete inner city apartment into a light, airy and comfortable home for us. This was a difficult project from both a logistic and vision standpoint. Living in Sydney, I had to communicate long distance the concept and renovations that we wanted John to implement and he not only achieved the end result that we had envisioned, but it is better than we had even imagined it would be. The workmanship of the custom cabinetry as well as the difficult implementation of the hardwood ceilings and wall are exceptional and the beautiful kitchen is a joy to work in. It was the extremely hard work of John and his design, contractor and supplier teams that have resulted in an apartment that our family can greatly enjoy for many years to come.

Full Renovation of a Victorian Terrace in Northcote

I had a major and complex renovation to do and working with John just made the whole project manageable. He made the complex simple and arranged for everything to occur in a simple, streamlined and affordable way. Lots of advice and nothing to hard to deal with. The end result was exceptional and I couldn't have achieved that without John's superb management of the whole project. He has my thanks and strong recommendation!

Design and Construction of Braybrook Townhouse

Sorry it’s taken a little while to write you this letter of thanks, I’ve been busy moving into my new home! But, a letter of thanks is most certainly due, for all the wonderful work you did to help me get to the finish line of this project. First and foremost, I’d like to thank you for never giving up. We encountered many obstacles – one of the biggest being the council Planning Department. With the first drafter dropping out and the second drafter being completely unsupportive, I really needed that knowledgeable backing to push through and reach a design that made both the council and (most importantly) my budget happy. Next , you fielded builder’s quotes, and by this stage my home was a completely custom design. There’s no way I would have had the know-how to do that, and to the same standard that you did. You found me a great builder, with a good history and accompanied an inspection to see their previous work. You asked all of the questions I didn’t think of to ask. You background checked them, read through the contract and pointed out amendments required. When the builder and I had a misunderstanding right at the start, you were able to give me advice on which issues I was right or wrong on so that when I met with them, I could state my case clearly and the resolution was easy. Your inspections throughout this build were invaluable and picked up on little issues here and there (nothing huge thankfully, because the builder was great) including finding that not all of the windows had locks. That’s really important! And something I simply didn’t notice! Imagine if you weren’t in the picture and I’d completed handover without window locks! Overall, when it came to handover, I was able to sign the final documents and collect my brand-spanking new keys in complete confidence. I didn’t hesitate or worry that something was missed. I’m endlessly grateful for that peace of mind. I’d probably be a nervous wreck otherwise. When the obstacles got too much for others around me (eg. my drafters, my family) you didn’t give up. You kept searching, suggesting different methods and problem solving until we got there. And we got there!!
