Rectification Works in Brighton

Monday, 13 January 2014

An unusual project.  This client came to us after they had undertaken a comprehensive extension and renovation of their home but was unable to get their contracted builder to rectify a range of minor issues or complete a number of small finishing tasks.  They ultimately parted company with the builder agreeing that they would have these works completed by tradespeople of their own choosing, but then ran out of time to source and coordinate these people.  Here's where we came in.  The scope of works was long and full of little fiddly tasks that all take time and coordination.  The client also took the opportunity to undertake a range of additional works which we scoped up, had quoted and undertaken.  These included having a number of pieces of bespoke furniture and joinery made to suit the house, changing the power supply to the house from above to underground, relocating the air conditioning compressor and installing additional joinery to the new kitchen and bathrooms.  The house also received a full internal and external repaint as the previous works were sub standard.  Along the way, we discovered a range of issues with poor workmanship associated with the previous builder and his trades which needed to be rectified, some on safety grounds.  The clients are now able to enjoy their home now that the works have been completed to a satisfactory standard.  Note: No internal photos at clients request.
