Renovation and Extension in Kallista

Monday, 13 January 2014

A tricky, sloping site, a narrow dirt access road and a steep, slippery driveway made access a challenge for this project as did a range of materials selected by the client which, whilst visually stunning, were quite tricky to work with.  The devil with this project, was most certainly in the detail and the smallest change or inaccuracy at one point could have caused significant difficulties at other points as a result of the flow on effects.  The project itself included a small extension to two parts of the house to increase the size of the two bathrooms and the laundry at either end of the house.  The property also underwent a significant internal facelift with the kitchen, both bathrooms and the laundry being completely replaced, walls being moved and new travertine flooring and paint throughout.  As you can see from the photos, the results speak for themselves.  Quite a striking weekender away from the hustle and bustle of the clients' busy inner city lives through the week.
