FAQs

Unsure whether you are ready for a project manager or if we can help you with your project? We have answered some of our most frequently asked questions below to help you decide if the time is right to contact us.

I have already started my project and I have run into problems, will you still help me?

Sure. We are happy to step in and identify the issues and problems and plot a path forward which ends the ‘blame game’ and gets the project delivered.

When should I engage the services of a professional project manager?

The earlier the better. We have some clients who get us involved when they are looking for a house as a renovation project to give them ideas on what could potentially be achieved with the property and to assist them develop a preliminary budget.

Do you have any relationships with any designers, builders or other tradespeople?

No. We are completely independent and work solely for the client. We do not accept any spotter’s fees or finder’s fees from any other people or organisations. The only party we accept payment from is our client.

Can I use designers or tradespeople I already know and trust?

Absolutely. We are happy to manage professionals that have been recommended to you providing they are appropriately qualified and insured to do the work.

Can I manage part of the process myself?

Of course. The initial consultation is critical in determining what elements of the project you would like to do yourself and what you would like us to take care of. You can be as involved as you would like to be.

How do you calculate the cost of providing project management services?

Following the initial consultation, we will have a solid understanding of your project requirements including the services that you would like us to provide. Based on this understanding, we will prepare an itemised fixed fee quotation for the provision of services throughout the project from start to finish. This quotation will be provided to you for your review and approval prior to commencement of the project.

Will I have the one point of contact throughout my project?

Yes. Your project manager will guide you through the process from start to finish. The Director of Residential Project Management, John Downs, also maintains a supervisory role in each project we take on to ensure that the client is happy throughout each project.

What does my initial free consultation involve?

Your initial consultation is a chance for us to get to know you and your project. It is where we talk to you about your vision for the project, your needs and wants, your time and budgetary constraints and your reasons for undertaking the project. We also gain an understanding of what is important to you for both the design and building process and outcome of the project. The meeting takes place on the project site if possible.
